Makaela practices employment law and has a business law practice in corporate and commercial law.

As an employment lawyer, Makaela advises both employers and employees on a variety of employment matters, including contract negotiation, policy drafting, employee classification, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements and employment considerations in business transactions.

In her business law practice, Makaela guides clients in the processes of business mergers and acquisitions, principally share and asset purchases. This includes the negotiating and drafting of transaction documents and conducting thorough due diligence. Makaela also assists clients with corporate governance matters, regulatory and legislative compliance, shareholder agreements and director and shareholder rights and liabilities.

In her spare time, Makaela is happiest being outside with her dog, hiking, biking and camping.
